The school was situated up a hill not more than a 5 minute walk from our host family. 120 students were subscribed but only 40 came on a regular basis. 5 Teachers and the principal. The mom of Pirot was responsible for opening and closing the school.

After some obervation we could see that the childeren were so eager and motivated to learn and at the same time afraid to answer. We could also see why the school only counted 40 regular students. The teachers had a very different way of teaching. In a lesson of 50 minutes the teacher left the class more than 3 times. There was no interaction, no connection with the environment and there was no positive approach towards the efforts of the students. Some off teachers were late and some didn't show up at all. When we talked to the head of CEPP (Teeka) he told us that there was a trend of unmotivated teachers in public schools.
They asked us to prepare some lessons to teach the next day. So we did. When we were teaching we slowly saw a change in the childeren. They were so happy and motivated to answer and participate in the matter. Ofcourse we did it for the childeren, but we wanted to teach with the teachers stand together. We wanted to create an interplay and not be the 'white people' who knew better. Unfortunately some left the class and weren't interested.

A little trowback will not break us. We kept teaching and we kept playing with the childeren. The 20 students of architecture & interior architecture from the faculty of architecture, KULeuven had brought a lot of materials with them for the childeren and they were so kind to let us prepare some workshops. Made small objects out of clay.

After a while some of the teachers joined us and showed us their way.

The students architecture & interior architecture where here with a different purpose. They had to start the building works for a new school and ofcourse we helped!
