After a 7 hour drive with the "Destiny Express" we arrived in Makwanpur Valley, our home for the next week!

The Destiny Express

They start young here :'D

They view when we stopped to have lunch

"From homestay to social exploration about women’s tattoos, medicinal herbs, family structures, Tamang, Buddhist and Hindu practices and of course getting used to eating the local dish, Dal Bhat (white rice & lentil soup) three times a day."

Hilde Bouchez

If you look closely u can see a faded tattoo on her chin

The tattoos are needled in with a paste of leaves from a special tree.

Since we arrived in the evening we couldn't see much. But when we woke up the next morning this was our backyard :o

We had the best host family ever, the spoiled us with food and love. A joy you can't describe. A memory that i will cherish in my heart my whole life.

The national dish Dal Bhat, 7 times a week 3 times a day. When we arrived the gave us a portion that could feed 4 people! By the end of the week we finally learned the Tamang word for 'Enough' = Todji .

Pirot and his cousin studing in our room!

We even had the pleasure of attending a Nepaleese wedding!
